Hi Maureen:

I couldn't find any groups in the areas you mentioned specifically called "baby boomer" groups. However, the area in which you live is filled with active, healthy baby boomers. We folks who were born at the end of World
War II and afterward are everywhere. Just look around.

If you and your husband want to find a social group, think about the kinds of things you like to do. Are you golfers, bikers, swimmers, health club nuts, card players, museum goers, book lovers, poetry readers, theatre
people, music lovers, art lovers, gourmet restaurant goers, dancers, nightclubers, boaters, cooks, or whatever? Pick a strong interest shared by both of you and search for a group in your area with that same interest. In
this way you will find other baby boomers--and they should have a lot in common with you.

Is the problem that you are finding that some people in your area are older than the oldest baby boomers? That may certainly be the case in many areas of Florida. If you try a group and find that it is packed with silver-haired widows carrying walkers, you can always switch to another one.

However, once you do find a good group of people who have a lot in common with you, you will probably forget about the age differences. After getting to know older people, you may overlook the "gray" and see the person inside,
who shares your knowledge and enthusiasm for the same interest. Besides, isn't it sometimes great to be the youngest people around? You should certainly get a lot of attention that way. Good luck with making high quality social connections in beautiful, sunny Florida.

Linda
