major cities of the SF Bay Area, and then on to Highway 17 which runs

3: Turn RIGHT onto 10TH ST.  0.47 miles  
4: Merge onto US-101 S via the ramp- on the left- toward SAN JOSE.  35.01 miles  
5: Merge onto CA-85 S toward CUPERTINO/SANTA CRUZ.  13.06 miles  
6: Merge onto CA-17 S toward SANTA CRUZ.  22.09 miles  
7: Merge onto CA-1 S toward WATSONVILLE/MONTEREY.  39.05 miles  
8: Merge onto DEL MONTE AVE toward PACIFIC GROVE.  2.00 miles  
9: Turn LEFT onto TYLER ST.  0.04 miles

CAPITOLA: Located in Santa Cruz on California's Central Coast, 65 miles south of San Francisco and 35 miles north of Monterey. Capitola is on the northern side of Monterey Bay and towered by redwood forested mountains,

SANTA CRUZ has great weather and sunshire. Surf City is another name that Santa Cruz is known as. There are redwoods and mountains nearby. Santa Cruz is rich with cultural scenes, performing and fine arts compliment the natural beauty of the area. Santa Cruz County has 29 miles of beaches, 6 state parks and 6 state beaches. The weather is warm and the sun shines 300 days per year.

MONTEREY BAY: is where World largest Aquarium is located. You can find seafood restaurant serving fresh catches from the bay at the Fisherman's Wharf. You can see sea otters at play or watch the whales migrating during the season.

Pacific Grove, is known for its migrating population of Monarch butterflies. A walk through the residential neighborhoods reveals many well-preserved, turn of the century, Victorian homes. History buffs can visit the Point Piños Lighthouse, the oldest operating facility of its kind on the California coast. The Monterey Bay recreational trail passes by Lover's Point, offering many opportunities to view sea otters, sea lions and occasionally passing whales. (From Monterey Chamber Of Commerce Web Site)

CARMEL BY THE SEA: Famous for it winding tree-lined streets, finely textured white sandy beaches, sophiticates galleries and quaint little Victorian cottages. Although small by size, this little town is bustling and it is one of a tourist destination of Northern California.
Carmel Valley is situated inland from CARMEL BY THE SEA and is a sunny oasis of vast rolling ranch land.
Carmel-by-the-Sea biggest attractions are also the downtown shopping district and its beautiful beaches. You won't find many sidewalks, street lights, neon signs or mailing addresses, but you will find specialty shops, boutiques, art and photography galleries and great restaurants.
Mission Carmel is just a short walk from the beach. Carmel Valley is a combination of sunshine and countryside. There are many wineries, rustic barns, vineyards and grazing animals, horse ranches, golf courses and parks. The valley retains the agricultural character of its history. It is 12 miles east of Carmel and is home to Garland Ranch Regional Park.

PEBBLE BEACH: World famous for its multi-million dollars golf course and the multi-million dollars homes on the 17-Miles drive.

From Monterey to Carmel-By-The-Sea On PC Highway One & to Big Sur

From Big Sur On PC Highway One to Cambria
1: Start out going Southeast on CA-1/CABRILLO HWY toward CLEAR RIDGE RD. Continue to follow CA-1. 72.78 miles 2: Turn LEFT onto CAMBRIA DR. 0.08 miles 3: Turn RIGHT onto MAIN ST. 0.78 miles 4: Turn RIGHT onto BURTON DR. 0.21 miles 5: Stay straight to go onto VILLAGE LN. 0.27 miles TOTAL ESTIMATED TIME: 1 hour, 33 minutes TOTAL DISTANCE: 74.14 miles

BIG SUR: Big Sur is about an hour south of Monterey Peninsula. It consists of about Hundred miles of rugged and majestic coastline. The area provides sever climates and options for exploring. Mother Nature shows her best face in Big Sur!

HARMONY: Coastal town near Hearst Castle

MORRO BAY: Morro Rock can be seen on High Way 1 from afar away.

MORRO BAY: is a fishing and agriculture village.

PISMO BEACH:

PISMO BEACH: A charming beach that is so wide and filled with fine sand. Complete with warm water temperature and good waves for body surfing. The beach area is quiet and less crowded than many other Californian beaches. It is ideal for family vacation destination. There is a Monarch butterfly grove near by with the migration season in the spring.
