According to Mapquest, it is a Total Distance of 1256.25 miles and Total Estimated Time of 20 hours, 18 minutes from San Diego to Seattle, Wa.

Well, that is if you don't stop anywhere LOL..
and the map uses I-5 route, it would take a lot longer on PCH1 and also Highway 101 combination.

Anyway, there's plenty of sightseeing and things to do from San Diego up to Seattle.

During November, it might be a little too unpredictable to travel through Coastal Route on Highway 1 via Big Sur but you have to kind of check it out before you start your trip.

You might have to use Highway 101 which is inland but also runs along the coast in some area such as Santa Barbara to Pismo Beach etc.

You can start the planning by looking at our page here:

This page gives you lots of links to various cities and sightseeing things to do along the way.

These sites are also great to check out:

: I have just started to research a trip I have been planning for some time. I want to travel the coastal highways from San Diego to Seattle but am curious on total time (not from the web because as someone noted on an earlier post the online services pick the shortest routes) and sights not to miss out on. Also, weather; I will be traveling during the first two weeks of Nov. Please share any thoughts or experiences.

: Thanks!
