Greetings! The weather in Southern California is georgous for the time being and will continue to be for a while. This weekend the forecast called for rain starting today, but the storm fizzled out and it is a beautiful sunshine day. We had rain for almost 2 weeks in mid February to early March and it stopped raining for about 2 weeks now.

Here's a site that you can check for 15 days of the weather in Palm Springs. (Currently at 2:49 PM PST it is SUNNY 84F)

As for Northern California, especially in San Francisco, it is still considered winter time up there. The weather currently at 2:53 PM is OVERCAST, 64F. (night time is probably Low 46-48F. IT is often windy at night).

If you want to drive up PC-HWY One on the coast, you also risk the unpredictable weather in Central Coast and around Big Sur area.

The best you could do it to drive PC-HWY One to Santa Barbara and see how it is and then go in-land from San Luis Obispo via US Highway 101 to San Francisco.. which is not as scenenic but safer. You can also go back in to PC-HWY One from Marina up to San Francisco (cut in from Highway 101 above Salina by Highway 156.) Although PC-HWY One route to San Francisco from Santa Cruz (North Of Monterey) is very isolated and not as scenic as Big Sur route.

Hello! I have a conference in Palm Springs at the end of this month, and we're visiting friends up in San Fran. sometime around the March 27-29 range.

: We really want to drive the PCH, I've been on it twice before and loved it...but both times it was July. What will the weather likely be like at the end of March. I know NOV-APR is the rainy season but I am hopeful for at least some clear skies in the afternoon being near the end of that. Have the El Nino conditions let up in CA?

: If it is fogged in the whole time I don't know if it will be worth it. What do you think?

: Thanks for your help!

: Greg
