Well, they probably will be moving to a warmer places since oil and gas prices will be sky rocketing by then..
I don't think they can retire EARLY completely. They probably have to get a part time jobs to keep up with expenses.. They can not collect social security until 62+ and that age will be raised soon.. who knows.. HOW are they going to live on without the income?
